How we work

From relief to resilience

Our approach moves from relief to resilience: we respond rapidly to urgent needs, support household recovery and restored livelihoods, and invest in long-term education, infrastructure and economic resilience.

01

Respond

Rapid humanitarian assistance for urgent needs.

02

Recover

Support families and communities as they restore stability and livelihoods.

03

Resilience

Invest in sustainable education, infrastructure and economic opportunity.

Community-led targeting

Village committees and local leaders help identify the most vulnerable households, with priority for female-headed families, IDPs and people with disabilities.

Digital registration

Every beneficiary is enrolled digitally and issued a scannable QR card, so each ration reaches the family it was meant for — once.

Ring-fenced funds

Zakat, Sadaqah, Udhiya and restricted gifts are tracked separately from receipt to delivery.

Proof back to donors

Photos, distribution lists and progress reports are shared with donors and partners after every activity.

Leadership

The people accountable for our work

Our board sets direction and safeguards accountability; country directors lead delivery in each branch.

Message from the Chairman

At Ihsan Foundation, our work is rooted in a simple principle: humanitarian service must protect dignity while creating meaningful opportunity. We respond to urgent needs, but we also invest in solutions that help communities build stronger futures.

Through community participation and trusted partnerships, we continue to expand access to clean water, food, healthcare, education, livelihoods, orphan support, and emergency assistance. Our commitment is to serve responsibly, transparently, and with compassion.

As our work grows across Somalia and Kenya, we remain focused on measurable impact and on ensuring that the people we serve are at the center of every program.
